Travel Time and Route Optimization

In order to produce optimal schedules the 360 DSE must quickly determine the travel time and distance between jobs. This is achieved using a ‘travel matrix’ that is accessed in real time by the system using high performance servers to deliver truly scalable real-time response.

The 360 Dynamic Scheduling Engine uses a unique approach based on geographic coordinates i.e. latitude and longitude location references meaning that it can be deployed anywhere in the world. The base road and street network is pre-processed into a distributed hierarchical travel matrix that can access unlimited amounts of highly detailed data in real time. The highest degree of travel accuracy is therefore achieved for all calculations to include for example one-way streets, bridges over waterways, etc. The 360 DSE’s unique layered travel matrix provides the most efficient and accurate travel calculations possible.

Street level routing

This is the most common dataset used in scheduling and is suitable for 90% of organizations.

Average journey times

Where street level routing is not sufficient a dataset can be substituted which is based upon average actual recorded journey times between two locations.

Live traffic updates

The 360 DSE can also accept live traffic data if it is available and automatically adjust any affected routes in the plan. This is highly effective for dealing with incidents that affect normal traffic flows.
